Faith and Films for the Family

Faith and Films for the Family is the theme and title of this Summer’s Wednesday Night Study series.  The purpose of this Summer series is to explore the intersection of popular movies (from Disney, Dr. Seuss, Dreamworks, and others) and theological themes.  In this study, we will be looking for allusions to Scripture and the Christian faith within recent family movies.  Our study is interested in what these family movies might teach us about the Christian faith, ethical choices, living in community, relating with one another, and finding ways to live with the consequences.

Every Wednesday evening, we will watch a 30-minute clip of a featured movie and then, we will spend another 30 minutes in discussion.  We will announce the movies which will be featured for each Wednesday evening study so that everyone will have a chance to watch these movies in their entirety at home ahead of time.
