Presbyterian Women
Purpose
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace, and
- to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) and witnesses to the promises of God's kingdom.
The Presbyterian women of First Presbyterian Church have three circles. Two of those circles meet on the third Tuesday of the month from September through May. The morning circle usually meets in a members home at 10 am and the afternoon circle meets at the church at 1 pm. The third circle, the Tuesday evening circle, meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the church parlor (except in the summer time). This circle is currently studying Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity by Adam Hamilton. Our mission projects include making blankets for the Linus Project and an annual craft fair. Proceeds from the craft fair go towards supporting 4 local or regional mission projects.
